Fun Time had by all at the Inaugural NIHL Mite Cross-Ice Jamboree

On Saturday, December 17th, the Yellowjackets Hockey Club hosted this first-ever NIHL event intended to promote the spirit of the new USA Hockey ADM, which strongly encourages Cross-Ice play at the Mite playing level. Mite Teams from the Yellowjackets, Redwings, and Rockford joined together at the Crystal Ice House regional site, one of nine sites chosen by NIHL, for this event. The event started out with the playing of our National Anthem. All of the players then got to play three forty minute cross-ice games with ten minute snack periods in between them. Snack bags and drinks were supplied by the Yellowjackets to all participants. Following the cross-ice games, the Yellowjackets and Redwings Mites stuck around for a fun-filled skills session. Officially, no scores were kept and every Mite Player, Coach, and Parent was a winner that day! Each player received a medal and certificate for participating in the event. The Yellowjackets Hockey Club really set the bar high for future Jamboree host sites. We are very proud of our Mite Coaches, Team Manager, and Parent volunteers who helped to make this such a successful event. Thank you!
