IHOA Sportsmanship Award for 2010   Congratulations to ALL Yellowjackets for being named as the Recipients of the IHOA Sportsmanship Award. Our Club at both the Youth and Girls levels were selected by the On-Ice Officials for Displaying Good Sportsmanship, Integrity and Fair Play from all of their Teams, Staff and Spectators During this past season. The awarded banners that will be hung with pride in the Ice House.
The Yellowjackets U12 Girls hockey team from Crystal Lake captured the Northern Illinois Hockey League's PeeWee Girls Championship on Sunday, February 14th in Joliet. The team culminated a perfect 16-0-0 season that began in September, with a semi-final win over the Wilmette Braves, 8-0, on February 7th, and another shutout victory over the Naperville Sabres 4-0 in the championship game. The team's success is built on team-play, outstanding goaltending and a stifling forecheck and defense that drastically limits opponents scoring chances. During their eighteen NIHL league season and tournament games, the team scored 111 goals and allowed only 10.   Overall the Yellowjackets U12 Girls are 29-3-0, and were the No. 1 ranked Tier II PeeWee Girls team in the nation for seven weeks. The next challenge for the team will be the state championship tournament, the 2010 Blackhawk Cup, being held in Crystal Lake from February 17th through the 21st.
	Sixteen area girls play on this Yellowjackets team - Emily Basile, Courtney Baugher, Morgan Bolin, Charlie Calamari, Kristin Chivers, Hannah Clayton, Amanda Conn, Jenessa Hernandez, Mackenzie Lundeen, Morgan McGregor, Giselle Medina, Amelia Murray, Shannon O'Brien, Emily Palmer, Erika Priester and Natalie Ryan play on this championship team.

	The Yellowjackets achieved another great accomplishment this season by winning the NIHL Presidents Cup at PeeWee Girls Gold U12 and PeeWee Elite teams. Each year after regular season competition concludes, NIHL's Member Club Presidents formally award The Presidents Cup to the top ranking team in each playing division.
2010 INCOMING HIGH SCHOOLER SKATE

 

The Mites skated before the Blackhawks game on 12/27/2009.  They split up the NWHL, NIHL A and several mite YDP players and made up 2 Yellowjackets teams.  It was very fun day.  234 people attended the game!!
