Super Skills Competition 03/06/2010

Welcome to the 2009-10 Super Skills Competition with the Firewagon Hockey, Inc. (FHI) “Yellowjackets”. This year, our third annual Super Skills event, will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010. The action will begin at 11:00 am and will continue through 6:30 pm. All Yellowjackets players and families should attend the festivities. There will be on-ice skill sessions, exhibitions, mascots, food, raffles and FUN! Also, make sure to bring items for the food drive as there are prizes based on the donations.

The players have worked hard all year and look forward to celebrating their achievements and development during the event. This year we are pleased to announce some exciting changes to the format, which invites all players to participate in the fun and skills competition! Awards will be given out at each level for the Yellowjackets Developmental Program, Northwest Hockey League, and Northern Illinois Hockey League players.

The event will culminate with a gift basket raffle and silent auction followed by an exhibition hockey game with the Yellowjackets Coaches vs. Lady Jackets, along with door prizes between each of the period.

During the event, Skates, the mascot for the Chicago Wolves and Tommy Hawk of the Chicago Blackhawks will be in attendance. Both mascots will be out greeting fans with our very own “Buzz” The Bee. Food will be available from 2:00-5:30 pm with donations appreciated. This will be a very fun event for everyone so please plan on attending and cheering on all the participants.

Food:

Food will be served from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm. There is no charge for food, but donations will be accepted.

Food Drive:

A food drive will be conducted for the local Food Pantries from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Please bring donations and drop them off at the West Ice Rink Service Door under the Crystal Lake Ice House Sign directly adjacent to the main building drive. Helpers will be available at the West Rink door to assist by carrying the food from your car! The Yellowjackets Development Program Team with the most players participating will win a dinner with the Yellowjackets Executive Director, Casey Van Damme (Coach Casey). Flyers will be distributed via email to each of the YDP Coaches for distribution to each of their team members.

Puck Drive:

Once again, our puck supply is getting low! We are requesting a minimum 1 puck as an “entrance fee” from each of the players. In return, each player will receive a ticket for a chance to win a door prize during the Exhibition Game.
