On February 25th, the Yellowjackets will be hosting their second annual Superskills Competition and year end raffle.
This year we are very pleased to announce some exciting changes to the format and an exhibition of skills to include the following participants:
Kenny McCudden: Our skating Skills instructor and instructor for the Chicago Wolves and Atlanta Thrashers
Robb Stauber: Ex NHL goalie for the Los Angeles Kings and first goalie to win the Hobey Baker Award and team MVP for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
A member of the Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves.
An official program will be finalized soon and mailed to all members, but the event will be open to everyone and all the proceeds for the night will benefit the Yellowjackets Hockey Club. The evening will feature the team baskets and other exciting items to be raffled off. We will also have food sales for the evening.
There will be 12-16 participants per level which evaluations are presently on going. Some of the details are being finalized but there will be 3-4 players from each team for every level selected from the YDP teams. All skills will be graded and final participants for the year end competition will be submitted to Sam Houk (Hockey Director YDP) to ensure accuracy and fairness.
Information as it becomes available will be posted on the Firewagon website so please check often to keep informed. We will also be distributing posters around the rink. Schedules for the evaluations will also be posted on the website and around the rink. If you have any questions please contact Chris Hentz or Sam Houk. All players will be evaluated before any selections are made and there will be make up days as necessary to ensure all individuals are evaluated.
Finally if anyone has a special item to donate for the raffle please see Chris Hentz, but please ensure it is new and in the original package for purposes of quality.
Thank you and see you there.
