Cross-Ice Pond Hockey Saturdays June 9th - July 28th Minimize

FIRE WAGON HOCKEY, INC.

CROSS ICE POND HOCKEY – AGES 7 - 14

June 15 – July 20, 2013 (5 Sessions)

Crystal Ice House, 320 E. Prairie Street, Crystal Lake, IL

FireWagon Hockey brings its cross-ice program to the Crystal Ice House for eight one hour Saturday night sessions starting June 9th and ending on July 28th. The cross-ice program is specifically designed to provide fast results in the most enjoyable environment available.  Cross-Ice is a system whereby skaters play the game along one-third of the width of the rink rather than the full length.  The reduced playing area increases the players need to move faster and gain better control of the puck, and players receive more touches of the puck than in a full-ice game.  Register by 5/31 and receive a $25 discount.  After 5/31, no discount.  No Session on 7/6.

Program Fee: $80.00

Fire Wagon Hockey Inc and the UW-Superior are committed to operating its summer camp program with the same professionalism and pride that is applied to Fire Wagon Hockey and the UW-Superior Ice Hockey Programs. A detailed, organized, challenging, safe, and fun atmosphere is why Fire Wagon Hockey continues to be a national leader in the camp industry.  We have an experienced and passionate volunteer staff that will do everything in their power to ensure your hockey player has a positive experience.  Fire Wagon Hockey has been providing innovative and top notch hockey instruction to players from the Midwest for over 27 years, and our extraordinary high rate of return campers is testament to our staff and campers commitment to excellence.

Fire Wagon Hockey 3 goals are to provide a safe camp atmosphere, help hockey players improve on and off the ice, and to provide an overall camp experience you won’t get anywhere else.

On-ice activities include, skating sessions, skills, game situational play, and the end of the day scrimmage where campers can put into play the skills they have learned. Each session is run by 3 or 4 of our volunteer coaches with help from 2 or 3 of our leadership participants. We strive to have a 5:1 coach to player ratio while on the ice. Our quality coaches have the experience to develop drills and sessions that cater to the age and level of the campers attending.

During off-ice activities, Fire Wagon Hockey Inc. is fortunate to use UW-Superior Marcovich Wellness Center, an 115,000-square-foot building built in 2003 that includes a field house with indoor track capable of hosting NCAA meets. Also includes fitness room, weight room, racquetball courts, climbing wall, classrooms and offices. The competition floor can handle an indoor track meet or be configured for multiple volleyball, basketball or dodge ball courts, or an indoor soccer field. This area also is available for camp conditioning and stickhandling sessions.   The center includes the renovated Gates Physical Education Building with gymnasium for basketball and volleyball as well as a swimming pool, dance studio, classrooms, computer lab, and state-of-the-art exercise physiology lab.

AGAIN IN 2013:  All overnight campers will be housed in one of the dormitories on the UW-Superior campus. Dining services include breakfast and dinner. Lunch is provided by Fire Wagon Hockey Inc. for all participants at the Ice Arena.
